Sam Doerr joined the Jackrabbit athletic staff as assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions in September 2014.
Before joining the South Dakota State staff, Doerr was involved in both pro sports and college athletics. Most recently, he worked with Spurs Sports and Entertainment where he was the franchise marketing manager. Doerr’s duties included overseeing the advertising budget, creating the marketing plan, assisting the sales force and overhauling social media strategy.
A native of Brookfield, Wis., Doerr worked in the University of Akron athletic department in partnership with IMG College prior to his stop in Texas.
A 2012 graduate of Morningside College, Doerr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing. While in college, Doerr was the tournament directory for Gus Macker Basketball.
He currently resides in Bookings.
