FARGO, North Dakota—The South Dakota State volleyball team lost in three sets Tuesday night in a Summit League match at North Dakota State in front of 524 fans.
The Jackrabbits (2-19, 0-8) lost 25-18, 25-18 and 25-15 to the Bison (15-5, 6-2).
Sophomore
Ashlynn Smith led the Jacks with seven kills. Junior
Mattison Munger had 14 set assists and eight digs. Senior
Ellie Benson had 13 digs.
McKenzie Burke had nine kills to lead NDSU.
Turning Points
SDSU used a 7-2 run early in the first set to tie the set at 11-11. NDSU closed the get on a 14-7 run.
The Jackrabbits fell behind 11-4 in the second set. State cut the lead to 16-12 on Smith's sixth kill of the match. The Bison finished the set with a 9-6 run.
State fell behind 5-0 early in the third set, but fought back to tie the set 8-8 on sophomore
Makenzie Hennen's fourth kill of the match. The set was tied again at 12-12 on junior
Payton Richardson's kill. NDSU then closed the set with a 13-3 run
Notables
- Mattison Munger recorded 14 set assists tonight. She now has 1,991 career assists, nine from 2,000 career assists at SDSU.
