Facing their first and only outside competition during the preseason, the South Dakota State volleyball team won all four matches in the 2017 Alumni Scrimmage.
Sophomore
Makenzie Hennen and junior
Sierra Peterson led the team with 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Junior
Payton Richardson and sophomore
Ashlynn Smith each chipped in eight kills.
Senior
Ellie Benson collected 14 digs while freshman
Erin Cutts had a pair of solo blocks and classmate
Macy Smith added four block assists.
South Dakota State opens the season at Milwaukee in the Pepsi Panther Invitational in Milwaukee, Wis., Aug. 25-26. It marks the 12
th season SDSU has started the season on the road at a tournament. In addition to the Panthers, the Jackrabbits face Virginia Tech and Idaho State.
