Women’s Basketball Reveals Summit League Slate

More than a decade of South Dakota State women's basketball in The Summit League has produced five regular-season titles, seven tournament championships and an 82.7 percent winning percentage. Now, with the 2017-18 league schedule announced Thursday, the Jackrabbits begin their hunt for 14 more wins.
As part of the 14-game Summit League schedule, SDSU plays seven home-and-home contests. Four of the seven home contests fall on Saturdays at Frost Arena and the Jackrabbits have a 14-game home win streak against league opponents.
South Dakota State's full schedule, which will include television broadcast information, is expected to be available later this month. Dates and times are also subject to change. Fans are encouraged to visit GoJacks.com for updates.
The Jackrabbits open their Summit League schedule with a two-game home stretch, hosting Omaha (Jan. 3) and regional rival North Dakota State (Jan. 6). SDSU has won seven consecutive league home openers, dating to a win over former Summit League member Oakland Dec. 29, 2011.
The Jacks led The Summit League in overall home attendance and ranked in the nation's top 80 last season, averaging more than 1,908 fans per game.
South Dakota State travels to Denver (Jan. 11) and Oral Roberts (Jan. 13) before returning to the friendly confines of Frost Arena for a three-game home stand against Western Illinois (Jan. 20), in-state rival South Dakota (Jan. 25) and Fort Wayne (Jan. 27).
State opens February at NDSU (Feb. 1) and Omaha (Feb. 3). Its final two home games are Feb. 8 vs. Denver and Feb. 10 against Oral Roberts.
For the third consecutive year, the Jacks close the regular-season with three-straight road games. They are at Western Illinois (Feb. 17), South Dakota (Feb. 21) and Fort Wayne (Feb. 24).
The Summit League Championship will be held March 3-6, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
