Northern Arizona's Kaylie Jorgenson and Heaven Harris combined for 24 kills to lead the Lumberjacks past South Dakota State 25-15, 25-16 and 25-19 Saturday evening in the Hampton Inn Jackrabbits Invitational at Frost Arena.
Sophomore
Makenzie Hennen recorded nine kills to lead Jackrabbits (1-5), who played in front of 224 fans. Freshman
Macy Smith added seven kills.
Turning point
After South Dakota State opened the first two sets with 3-0 runs, Jorgenson led Northern Arizona back with seven combined kills to take leads.

Northern Arizona used a 7-1 run to take a 21-14 lead in the first set. The Lumberjacks opened the third set with an 8-1 run.

"Took a big step back tonight. Everything on the court, for whatever reason, was different and we could not pull it together," third-year head coach
Nicole Cirillo said. "We tried a bunch of different lineups, put people in different spots and just couldn't find anything that was going to work."

Roberts was named the invitational's most valuable player.
