South Dakota opened the second quarter with a 12-0 run and never looked back in handing the South Dakota State women's basketball team a 67-61 loss Thursday night in front of a season-high 3,091 fans in The Summit League play at Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits, who fall to 16-5 overall and 5-1 in league play, were led by
Macy Miller's 18 points.
Madison Guebert added 17 points while
Ellie Thompson had a season-high tying nine rebounds for game-high honors.

USD, 16-5 and 7-0, was led by Kate Liveringhouse's 20 points. Ciara Duffy and Allison Arens added 17 and 13 points, respectively.

Turning PointÂ
Liveringhouse opened the second-quarter scoring with a 3-point field goal to spark USD on a 12-0 run to take a 31-19 lead with 6:12 left in the half. The Jackrabbits missed three shots and committed two turnovers before getting a 3-pointer by Guebert to snap the run. Miller sank a 3-pointer with 1:25 left to make the halftime score 39-34.

Duffy sank a 3-pointer to open the fourth quarter for a 57-46 lead before State cut the lead to one, 57-56, after two Miller free throws with 5:25 remaining to play. Liveringhouse answered with a shot from the baseline to make it 59-56 and the Jackrabbits could not get any closer than two points the rest of the way.

- The Jackrabbits saw their 16-game home Summit League win streak snapped at 16.
- Miller's 18 points gives her 1,503 points, 60 shy moving into seventh on the career scoring.
- Guebert scored 17 points to give her 1,160 points for 29th place, passing Rachel Halsrud (1990-93).
- Thompson moved into 32nd in career scoring with five points. She has now scored 1,131 points. She also has 699 career rebounds.
