For the second year in a row, South Dakota State leads the Great West Football Conference All-Academic Team with 13 selections.
The team, which was announced Tuesday afternoon, features eight Jackrabbits as repeat selections, including three-time honorees Scott Breyfogle and Marty Kranz. Breyfogle, a senior defensive back from Holstein, Iowa, has compiled a 3.684 grade-point average in mathematics, while Kranz, a senior linebacker from Watertown has put together a 3.422 GPA in health, physical education and recreation.

Five first-time selections rounded out the list of honorees for the Jackrabbits: senior offensive lineman Mark Oelkers, sophomore offensive lineman
Kevin Robling and redshirt freshmen
Steven Bazata,
Chris Johnson and
Casey Knips.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have been enrolled at the current institution for three semesters, achieved a minimum 3.2 grade-point average and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games. Student-athletes were selected based on their most recent GPA.
North Dakota State was second among GWFC teams with 10 selections, followed by Southern Utah with eight. Cal Poly and UC Davis each put four players on the all-academic team. In all, 17 players were repeat selections.
