Meyer ranked in preseason wrestling poll

South Dakota State wrestling standout Ryan Meyer is ranked 20th at 165 pounds in NCAA Division I preseason rankings conducted by WIN Magazine.
A sophomore from Parkston, Meyer is coming off a 2006-07 season in which he compiled a 23-11 overall record and became the first Jackrabbit wrestler to qualify for the NCAA Division I National Championships since SDSU's transition to D-I.
Meyer is the lone Western Wrestling Conference wrestler ranked in the 165-pound weight class.
SDSU will host its annual coaches clinic and wrestleoffs Oct. 27, then open competition Nov. 3 by hosting the Warren Williamson/ Daktronics Open at Frost Arena.
