GREELEY, Colo. -- Northern Colorado won seven of 10 weight classes, defeating South Dakota State 29-10 in a Western Wrestling Conference dual Saturday night at Butler-Hancock Hall.
UNC improved to 1-4 in winning its first WWC dual of the season. The Jackrabbits fell to 0-3 overall, 0-2 in conference competition.
The two squads split the first four matches, with Ryan Meyer winning a 4-1 decision at 165 pounds for his 15th win of the season and Tyler Sorenson adding a 13-5 major decision at 184 pounds for SDSU. UNC dominated the second half of the dual, winning four of five matches, with Adam Everson posting the only victory for SDSU, an 8-6 decision over Richard Lohr in the 141-pound bout, to improve to 18-8.
The Jackrabbits return to dual action Jan. 18, hosting Northern State at Frost Arena. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
