South Dakota State makes one more non-conference road swing with games at Northern Iowa and at Iowa State before The Summit League season goes into full swing after the holiday break.
The road trip starts in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Sunday against Northern Iowa, a team the Jackrabbits beat last season in Frost Arena. Sunday's game also marks the Jackrabbit debut of redshirt freshman Griffan Callahan. Garrett's younger brother sat out the first semester because after transferring from the University of North Dakota last fall.
The Jacks then travel to Ames for a match-up with the Iowa State Cyclones on Tuesday. The Jacks and Cyclones last met on the hardwood on Nov. 23, 1985.

SDSU NOTES ? Fresh off a dominant win over Cal State-Bakersfield, SDSU enters the week with a 5-7 record. Garrett Callahan leads the way for the Jackrabbits with 16.8 points per game. Clint Sargent adds 14.9 points, Kai Williams helps with 9.8 points and six rebounds while Anthony Cordova adds 9.1 points and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game.
The Jacks shoot .426 from the floor overall, .346 from three-point range. They average three more rebounds and almost one more point per game than their opponents, but enter the week with more turnovers, fewer blocks and fewer steals than the competition.

SDSU basketball will have an increased presence on Mediacom throughout the 2008 season. COUNTDOWN TO 1,000 POINTS ? Junior Kai Williams enters the week with 887 career points, 113 shy of becoming the 39th member of the SDSU 1,000-Point Club and the first to score all of them at the Division I level.
Fellow junior Garrett Callahan, who leads the Jacks with 16.8 points per game, enters the week with 774 points, 226 shy of joining the club.
TRANSITION OVER ? The NCAA Division I Management Council Administrative Committee, acting on behalf of the DI Management Council, announced in late June that South Dakota State University met the requirements to become an active member of NCAA Division I, starting at the beginning of the 2008-09 academic year.
Previously a member of Division II, SDSU Successfully completed the five-year process of moving its athletic programs to comply with Division I membership requirements. Those requirements include compliance with Division I rules for the final four years, meeting minimum financial aid and contest scheduling limits, engaging in a rules compliance review and successfully complete the athletics certification process.
SDSU officials submitted an extensive self-study to the NCAA in the spring of 2007 and a peer-review team completed the study during a campus visit in October 2007.
THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION
Northern Iowa Panthers (5-5, 4-1 at home) ? The Panthers enter Sunday's game with an even 5-5 record, and hope get a win before they open Missouri Valley Conference play on Dec., 28 at home against Indiana State.
Jordan Eglseder leads the Panthers offense with 12.8 points and with 7.8 rebounds per game. Adam Koch ranks second in both of those categories with 11.2 points and with 5.1 rebounds per game. Johnny Moran and Kwadzo Ahelegbe add 9.6 and 9.5 points per game, respectively.
UNI shoots .439 from the floor and .303 from three-point range, both lower averages than its opponents. Panther opponents also hold a considerable edge in blocks and steals, but do hold a slight rebounding edge over their opponents.
The Series vs. Northern Iowa ? Sunday's game marks the 86th meeting between the former North Central Conference foes, with the Jackrabbits leading the all-time series with the Panthers 52-33, including a 61-55 win in the last meeting on Nov. 23, 2007 in Frost Arena.
Against common opponents ? UNI opened the 2008-09 season with a 61-56 win over Denver in Cedar Falls. The Jackrabbits fell to the Pioneers 62-58 on Dec. 13, in Denver.
Iowa State Cyclones (6-3, 5-1 at home) ? The Cyclones, who host Jacksonville State on Saturday, enter the week with a 6-3 overall record and do not open Big 12 Conference play until Jan. 10, at Texas.
Craig Brackins leads the Cyclones with 15.8 points and with 6.9 rebounds per game. Diante Garrett ranks second in both of those categories with 11.4 points and with 4.7 rebounds per game. Bryan Petersen also enters the week with 4.7 rebounds per game to go with his 6.2 points.
A deep team, Iowa State shoots .441 from the field, .388 from three-point range. Their opponents hold a slight rebounding edge on the Cyclones, but ISU outscores its opponents by over five-points a game.
The Series vs. Iowa State ? The Cyclones lead the all-time series with the Jackrabbits 5-0, with all five games played in Ames, Iowa.
The teams last met on Nov. 23, 1985 in Ames, where the Cyclones spun the Jacks 83-39.
Against common opponents ? Like the Jacks, the Cyclones fell to Drake (Iowa) earlier this season. The Bulldogs defeated SDSU 75-65 in Des Moines on Nov. 23 in the domestic portion of the Cancun Challenge, and then beat ISU 66-63 on Dec. 9, in Ames.
ISU beat UNI 71-66 in overtime on Dec. 3, in Cedar Falls.
