The Jacks opened the 2009-10 season in dominating fashion at Wyoming, downing the Cowboys 77-61. Clint Sargent led the way for the Jacks with 18 points, including a 5-for-8 effort from beyond the three-point arc. Kai Williams, who sat out much of the preseason with an injury, came off the bench to score 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting, 4-for-5 from long distance.
SDSU followed up its first road win with its first home win, when the Jacks downed Mayville State (N.D.) 89-56 in their home opener on Monday night. This time Anthony Cordova paced the Jacks with 16 points, while Garrett Callahan and Chad White both added 14 points.
Callahan and Williams both lead the Jacks through two games with 12.5 points. Cordova adds 11 and Sargent 10 points per game to round out the double-digit averages. In addition to his 11 points, Cordova leads the Jacks with 6.5 rebounds per game.
The Jackrabbits as a team shoot .508 from the floor and average 33.5 rebounds per game, and hold opponents to .407 shooting and an even 32 rebounds per game average.
NEXT UP FOR THE JACKRABBITS - The Jacks return to action on Nov. 28, when they host Denver at Frost Arena. The Jackrabbits fell to the Pioneers by the score of 62-58 last season in Denver.
SDSU opens Summit League play on Dec. 3, at IUPUI.
RABBITS ON THE RADIO - All Jackrabbit men's basketball games, home and on the road, can be heard live on AM 570 WNAX, with Steve Imming doing the play-by-play. The pre-game show begins 15 minutes before tipoff.
Also the voice of Jackrabbit football, Imming gives way to the former voice of Jackrabbit women's basketball, Scotty Kwas, for this week's games at the Paradise Jam.

SENIORS CLIMB THE 1,000 POINT CLUB LADDER - Seniors Garrett Callahan and Kai Williams both joined the SDSU 1,000-Point Club last year as juniors and started their climb up the all-time points ladder.
Callahan started the season ranked 25th all-time with 1,092 points, but already moved up to 20th on the list with 1,117 points. Williams started the season 26th all-time with 1,091 points remains one point back to start the week at 1,116 points.
SARGENT CLOSES IN ON 1,000 POINTS - Jackrabbit junior Clint Sargent scored a total of 20 points in the Jacks season-opening wins over Wyoming and Mayville State, leaving him 328 points shy of becoming the 41st member of the SDSU 1,000 Point Club. Sargent scored 244 points as a freshman and 408 as a sophomore.
JACKRABBITS IN THE SUN - The Paradise Jam marks the second straight season that the Jackrabbits abandoned the fall chill of South Dakota for the sand and sun in the Caribbean. The Jacks played two games the Cancun Challenge last year in Cancun, Mexico, falling to Central Florida before beating Central Arkansas.

Purdue Boilermakers (1-0) - Ranked No. 7 in both the ESPN/USA Today and AP polls, Purdue won its first and only game this season, 89-64 over Cal State-Northridge at home on Nov. 13.

Boston College Eagles (1-0) - The Eagles opened the 2009-10 season on Nov. 13, with an 89-58 win over Dartmouth, and host St. Francis (N.Y.), on Tuesday. Boston College opens the Paradise Jam against St. Joseph's in the first round on Friday at 7 p.m.

St. Joseph's Hawks (2-0) - The Hawks needed overtime to get their first win of the season over Drexel on Nov. 13, and then edged Holy Cross on Tuesday to improve to 2-0. St. Joseph's opens play in the Paradise Jam against Boston College.

DePaul Blue Demons (1-0) - DePaul opened the regular season with a 59-53 home win over Columbia. The Blue Demons open the Paradise Jam on Friday against Northern Iowa.
The Series vs. DePaul - DePaul won the only meeting between the two teams, 38-19 during the 1929-30 season.
East Carolina Pirates (1-2) - The only team to enter the Paradise Jam with a loss, East Carolina won its season opener 77-60 over UVa-Wise, but fell at Wake Forest on Nov. 15 and at Campbell on Tuesday. The Pirates play Tennessee on Friday in St. Thomas.

Northern Iowa Panthers (1-0) - After a pair of runaway exhibition wins, the Panthers downed Denver 71-65 on Nov. 13, in Denver.
The Series vs. Northern Iowa - SDSU leads the all-time series between the two former Division II North Central Conference teams 52-34. UNI won the last meeting 72-55 on Dec. 21, 2008 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Tennessee Volunteers (2-0) - Ranked No. 10 in the AP poll and No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Today poll, the Vols head to St. Thomas with convincing wins over Austin Peay and UNC-Ashville, both at home. Tennessee opens the Paradise Jam against East Carolina on Friday.
