On Being behind early

"We talked about the concern of our team being flat. What I pointed to in terms of the pattern is going back to last year were we played with so much energy against Oral Roberts (in the Summit League tournament) and we came back a played so flat against Oakland. It looked almost exactly the same in terms of the mistakes. I can't even tell you the amount of mistakes that we made tonight. It's not that Boston College isn't a good team, but I told our players, and I don't think I am asking too much, but maybe some people think that I am, but we should be able to play with Purdue and Boston College. Last night we did and tonight we didn't. I just told them, if we are going to get the program to the level that we want it at, then there are going to be very high expectations. For those guys that don't want those high level of expectations, they are going to be very unhappy in our program. The guys that do want those kinds of expectations and play at that level, they are going to enjoy our program."

Physical or mental problem

"A little bit of both. If you look at our guards, they played too many minutes last night. I don't know if Clint (Sargent) could have struggled anymore then he did early in terms of the mistakes that he made, just his shooting. His legs were dead. Garrett's (Callahan) legs were dead. Those guys that played a lot of minutes last night really struggled tonight."

Late second shots by Boston College

"We played the percentages and the percentages were that they are not a very good three point shooting team. If you look before this game, our three point defense had been tremendous. We had to pack our defense in and try not to give up easy shots. The kids that don't shoot a great percentage, made those shots tonight. Part of it was that they shot the ball well and part of it was we made a lot of mistakes."

Rebounding

"We have always had great rebounding teams here and no less is expected of this team. To this point we have not been good at rebounding. I think coming into this game, we only had one more rebound then our opponents total and now, obviously we got beat by 10 tonight, so we are in negative margin right now which is very unusual for our basketball team. It's something that we have to get worked out."

Anthony Cordova's play

"It was pretty good. He took 18 shots. A guy his size should shoot 50 percent and he should be able to score that way. They stuck pretty tight to our guards and we threw it in there so AC should get those shots. We need him to shoot a higher percentage. He's not playing at a real high level now like he was at the end of last year, but he will get there."

East Carolina on Monday

"I hope that they don't totally forget this, I want it to bother them. I don't want them to accept the fact that we got beat twice in a row and I don't care who we play. This needs to bother guys, and if it doesn't, then there is something wrong. We need to be able to take the mistakes that we made and come back with some aggressiveness that we didn't have tonight."
