"We have been exposed a little bit in being soft. It wasn't just the turnovers, it was being able to run plays and make plays in crucial situations, which we didn't do. With a minute to go we were down three and had a couple of bad turnovers. Softness is very difficult to cure, but it can be curable. The only way it happens, is if we admit it and we do something about it. I think in pressure situations, we looked a little bit soft."
On big first half lead
"It's ridiculous to be up 20 points and let a team come back and beat you like they did. It's disheartening. I know that the players are very disappointed. We're all disappointed to play in the seventh/eighth place game no matter who is in the tournament. This is a great tournament and we knew coming here that we were going to play three great teams and we could play great and leave 0-3 or go 3-0. We knew it was going to be a difficult tournament and hopefully we learned some things from it. We are playing a tough team when we go back home. Denver is a very good basketball team. My hope is that the guys don't lose confidence over this just because it was such a tough tournament."
Physical play all tournament
"I would say that in the first game, we had the same kind of emotion. We were just playing a different team. I don't mind it getting chippy. I would prefer that it gets chippy because then you know that your kids are in the game and involved and we were. We played well enough and hard enough to win this game, there's no question about it. In crucial situations, with the experience that we have and to make the plays that we made was disappointing."
Rebounding
"We were up four rebounds at half time and to lose by seven obviously means that in the second half they out rebounded us by 11. I think that goes back to speaking about our softness. I know that East Carolina is a big team and an athletic team, but we have always had good rebounding teams here and this team is going to be one before we're done, we're going to make sure of it, it's a point of emphasis every year and every day in practice."
On Nate Wolters
"I would say that 11 points, six assists and no turnovers for a freshman in this game is pretty good. I am pretty pleased with the way that Nate is playing, not only on the offensive end, but defensively he is a very adept player also. He struggled early, but he's starting to play now. I think he's getting used to this level and certainly we expect him to get nothing but better."
Denver on Saturday
"They really try and control the pace of the game. It's going to be a very slow paced game, even if you want to run, they make it very difficult to do so. They try to keep the game in the 40s and 50s, so generally every game that they play is close. They do a great job of executing their stuff, running their stuff and making you play at their pace."
