On Friday, Nov. 20, the Jacks gave No. 7 Purdue all it could handle, but the Boilermakers came out strong in the second half to hold on for a 74-63 win. The Jackrabbits hung tough throughout, erasing a 12-point deficit in the first half with a 14-2 run that tied the game at 28 and stayed with the Boilermakers for the rest of the half before Purdue took a 39-37 lead into halftime.
On Saturday, the SDSU fell into an early hole against Boston College and never recovered, the Jacks eventually lost by the score of 75-58.
After a day off, the Jacks saw East Carolina erase a 20-point SDSU first half lead to defeat the Jacks 82-73 on the final day of the tournament.
Senior guard Garrett Callahan led all SDSU players with 41 points over the three games, including a team tournament high of 18 points in the finale vs. East Carolina, junior forward Anthony Cordova added 31 points and 17 rebounds. Cordova also scored 18 points, his coming in the second game against Boston College.
NEXT UP FOR THE JACKRABBITS - Summit League play opens next week with the Jackrabbits on the road, where they look for their first-ever Summit League road win.
The Jacks start the conference season at IUPUI on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, and then return to action on Saturday against Western Illinois at 7 p.m.
RABBITS ON THE RADIO - All Jackrabbit men's basketball games, home and on the road, can be heard live on AM 570 WNAX, with Steve Imming doing the play-by-play. The pre-game show begins 15 minutes before tipoff.
Also the voice of Jackrabbit football, Imming gives way to the former voice of Jackrabbit women's basketball, Scotty Kwas, for this week's game.

SDSU STUDENT ATHLETES GIVE BACK - The SDSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee continues its annual holiday toy drive during this week's game against Denver. All toys collected during the women's game vs. Western Kentucky last week and the men's game this week will be used in the Project Joy campaign in Brookings.
SENIORS CLIMB THE 1,000 POINT CLUB LADDER - Seniors Garrett Callahan and Kai Williams both joined the SDSU 1,000-Point Club last year as juniors and started their climb up the all-time points ladder.
Callahan started the season ranked 25th all-time with 1,092 points, but already moved up to 19th on the list with 1,158 points. Williams started the season 26th all-time with 1,091 point, and starts the week ranked 21st all-time with 1,138 points.
SARGENT CLOSES IN ON 1,000 POINTS - Jackrabbit junior Clint Sargent entered the season with 652 points, 348 shy of becoming the 41st member of the SDSU 1,000 Point Club. His 56 points so far this season give him 708 points, 292 point shy of joining the club. Sargent scored 244 points as a freshman, 408 as a sophomore and ranks second on the team this season with 11.2 points per game.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENT
Denver Pioneers (3-1) - The Pioneers enter Saturday's game against the Jackrabbits riding a three-game winning streak. After opening the season with a home loss to Northern Iowa, the Pioneers rattled off win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Montana and Wyoming.
Nate Rohnert leads the Pioneers through four games with 20.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Andrew Hooper added 14.3 points per game, while Brian Stafford chips in with 13.8 points.
The Pioneers return nine players, including all five starters and 98 percent of their scoring and rebounding from last season.
Picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference West Division in the annual coaches' preseason poll, senior captain and guard Nate Rohnert earned a place on the Preseason All-SBC First Team. Rohnert dished out six assists against Montana on Nov. 19 to move into eighth place on DU's all-time assists list with 254.
The Series vs. Denver - SDSU leads the all-time series 4-3, with the Pioneers winning 62-58 last season in Denver. The last time the two met at Frost Arena, the Jacks picked up a 56-52 win during the 2007-08 season.
Clint Sargent led all players in last year's game at Denver with 19 points. Anthony Cordova added a double-double with a then career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds.
