SHREVEPORT, La. ? The South Dakota State softball team got one two-run homerun in each game of its doubleheader at Centenary on Friday, but did not score any other runs in 7-2 and 4-2 losses to the Ladies.
The Friday sweep boosts the Ladies record to 23-13 overall and 6-3 in The Summit League, while the losses drop the Jackrabbits to 7-26 overall and an even 4-4 in league play.
SDSU opened the scoring in Game 1 when Dani Broshar went deep down the left field line for a two-run homerun that scored Brooke Postma, who reached on an infield single. Broshar's dinger gives her three on the season, which leads the team.
Centenary drew a pair of walks in the bottom half of the second and then used the long ball to take a 3-2 lead after two innings, a lead they would no relinquish.
The ladies added two-runs each in the third and fourth innings to complete the 7-2 win.
Broshar finished the game 2-for-3 with the two-run shot to lead the Jacks. Jenna Marston gave-up five hits, seven runs, five earned, in taking the loss, she also struck out four and walked eight Ladies on the day.
The Jacks opened the scoring in the second game of the day as well and did so in much the same manner as in Game 1.

Centenary touched-up SDSU starter Pam Nicholson for three runs on two hits and capitalized on one Jackrabbit error in the bottom of the second to take a 3-2 lead.
The Ladies would add an insurance run in the fifth to secure the 4-2 win and the doubleheader sweep.
Stroh led the offense in Game 2 with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, Ashley Durazo also went 2-for-3 and added a stolen a base in the loss.
Nicholson gave up ten hits, four runs, two earned in taking the loss. She also struck out five and walked three.
