Nine members of the 2010 South Dakota State football senior class have been named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, which was announced Tuesday by officials from the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.
Jackrabbit players receiving the recognition were:
• Derek Domino, linebacker, Spring Lake Park, Minn.;
• Tyler Duffy, running back, Brookings;
• Matt Hylland, wide receiver, Sioux Falls;
• Corey Jeske, defensive back, Buffalo, Minn.;
• Conrad Kjerstad, defensive back, Wall;
• Jacob Ludemann, offensive lineman, Norfolk, Neb.;
• Ryan McKnight, offensive lineman, Sioux Falls;
• Kyle Minett, running back, Ruthton, Minn.;
• Dean Priddy, punter, Eden Prairie, Minn.
Qualifications for membership in the Hampshire Honor Society are based on both academic and athletic accomplishments, including:
• Being a starter or key reserve at an accredited four-year college or university;
• Achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average;
• Meeting all mandated progress towards degree requirements and graduation
A total of 671 players from 241 schools qualified for membership in the honor society. SDSU's nine selections were the most among Missouri Valley Football Conference teams and tied for second with Harvard among Football Championship Subdivision programs. Brown University led the FCS ranks with 11 honorees.
