THE JACKRABBITS (0-2, 0-0 Home)
Despite the losses, the young Jackrabbits can find some positives, as Cody Larson posted a double-double in each game, pushing his streak to three straight games with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds and giving him eight for his career. The Jacks also led in the second half of both games and the large group of young players acquired some much-needed experience.
Four players scored in double figures in both games, with Larson, Jake Bittle doing so in both, Zach Horstman at Buffalo and Deondre Parks at Idaho. Additionally, both Larson and Horstman tallied double-doubles at Buffalo, the first-career double-double for Horstman.
TONIGHT'S OPPONENT
NORTH DAKOTA (1-1, 0-1 Away): Picked to finish ninth in both the Big Sky preseason coaches and media polls, North Dakota opened the season with a 64-52 loss at Northern Iowa last Saturday, and then bounced back with a dominating 76-39 win over in-state foe Mayville State on Tuesday.
UND trailed by two points at halftime on Saturday at Northern Iowa, but the Panthers used a 9-0 run early in the second half to seal the win. Jaron Nash, Terrel de Rouen and Quinton Hooker all finished with 11 points in the loss.
Nash hit double figures again in the win over the Comets, posting his first-career double-double in the process. He finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the win, one of three UND players in double figures. Hooker again finished with 11, while Josiah Coleman added 13 points off the bench.
Following tonight's game, North Dakota heads to Salt Lake City, Utah for three games next week.
THE SERIES vs. North Dakota: North Dakota leads the all-time series 104-81. SDSU won the last two meetings; 77-70 on Dec. 21, 2013 in Grand Forks, and 71-70 on Nov. 28, 2012, when Chad White hit a 3-pointer at the final buzzer to secure the win.
