Perfect through four and a third innings, Menke retired the next two South Dakota State batters to complete the one-hit win, which boosts the Bison to 24-13 on the season overall and to 7-1 in Summit League play. SDSU falls to 7-26 overall and to 2-10 in league play.
Menke pitched all five inning, surrendering just the one hit, with no walks and eight strikeouts to improve to 18-5 on the season.
Scoreless after two innings, the Bison touched-up the Jackrabbits for eight runs on eight hits in the third inning, and then added three runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth to secure the win.
SDSU looks to snap its skid on Wednesday, when the Jacks host North Dakota in a doubleheader at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium. The action begins at 2 p.m., weather permitting.
