Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Mayville State (Exhibition) on October 29, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

2/26/2016 3:50:00 PM | Men's Basketball
South Dakota State did its part on Thursday with a 71-59 win over North Dakota State, but Fort Wayne won and IUPUI lost, which locked the Mastodons into the No. 1 seed and the Jackrabbit into the No. 2 seed at next week's Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, where the Jacks play on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Before that though, SDSU hosts Oral Roberts in the final game of the regular season for both teams, and while the Jacks can't improve their seed, they can cap their second consecutive perfect home season, which would run their home winning streak to 29 in a row.
The Golden Eagles, on the other hand, can get as high as a No. 6 seed at the tournament, but can also fall as far as the No. 8 seed, depending on the outcome of Saturday's games. The solutions all come at the conclusion of the game, which tips from Frost Arena at 4:30 p.m.
THE OPPONENT
ORAL ROBERTS GOLDEN EAGLES (18-11, 8-7 Summit, 4-10 Away): The Golden Eagles' saw their three game winning streak snapped at Omaha on Thursday, and look to get back on the winning track and improve their seeding at next week's league tournament.
Depending on the outcomes of several games, ORU could fall into either the sixth, seventh or eighth seed. if they lose and South Dakota wins at Western Illinois, the Golden Eagles would fall to a No. 8 seed, but if they win, they would be a No. 6 seed. If both ORU and Denver lose, the Golden Eagles would be a 7 seed.
THE SERIES vs. ORAL ROBERTS
Tonight's game marks the 16th meeting between the two schools, with ORU holding an 8-7 advantage overall, despite four straight SDSU wins in the series.
SDSU won the first meeting of the season, 86-74, on Jan. 21, at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Okla., and won the last meeting at Frost Arena, 81-52, on Senior Night last year, Feb. 21.
