DAVIS, Calif. – Logan Denholm recorded four hits and drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11^th inning as UC Davis prevailed over South Dakota State, 5-4, in a back-and-forth college baseball game Wednesday at Dobbins Stadium.

The Aggies' game-winning rally started when Tanner Bily reached on an error. Bily advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and later stole third base. Following a pair of intentional walks to load the bases, Denholm lifted a fly ball to right field that was deep enough to allow Bily to score.

UC Davis, 5-7 overall, tied the game against Jackrabbit closer Ethan Kenkel with a run in the eighth. Alex Aguiar, who also had four hits in the game, doubled with one out, stole third and scored on a squeeze bunt by Jacob Thomas.

The Jackrabbits led on two different occasions, capitalizing on two UC Davis errors in the second inning to score twice and take a 2-1 lead. Newt Johnson singled in Anthony Schneider for the first Jackrabbit run and later scored on one of five Aggie miscues in the game.

SDSU regained a 4-3 lead with a two-run top of the fifth. Luke Ringhofer led off the frame with a single and later scored on a wild pitch. Tony Kjolsing scored the second run of the inning on a base hit by Anthony Schneider. Schneider and Johnson each notched two of the Jackrabbits' nine hits.

Chris Halbur pitched three shutout innings in relief to hold the Jackrabbit lead into the late innings. Halbur struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Freshman Will McAffer made his first career start for SDSU, allowing three runs on six hits over four innings. He walked four and struck out one.

Five different pitchers logged innings for UC Davis, including Robert Garcia, who struck out four and walked one over four hitless innings of relief. Blake Peters pitched a scoreless top of the 11^th to pick up the victory.

The Jackrabbits, 0-12 overall, are scheduled to play a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Northern Colorado.
