South Dakota Mines was led by Logan Elers, who finished with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Tied at 20 just past the under-12 media mark of the opening half, SDSU pulled away briefly with an 11-0 run that included back-to-back 3s from Daum and King, only to see SD Mines bury a pair of treys on the other end of the court to keep things close.
Ahead 44-39 at the break, State built a 13-point cushion over the first 10 minutes of the half before a burst of eight straight put the Jacks ahead 21 (74-53) with eight minutes to play. Although SD Mines stopped the run, they would come no closer than 17 the rest of the way as SDSU closed out the win.
