Soccer announces spring schedule

South Dakota State women's soccer announced its 2019 spring schedule Thursday. Similar to last year, the Jackrabbits will play four home games against Division II schools with a pair of road trips to regional Division I opponents.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to test our team this spring as we grow and develop," head coach Brock Thompson said. "As a program we are so very grateful that our outstanding facilities allow us to train during the winter months and play home games in February and April."
Prior to the Feb. 24, spring-opening doubleheader against St. Cloud State (noon) and Southwest Minnesota State (3 p.m.), the Jackrabbits will host an alumni game on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. All three contests will be held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

From there, SDSU is idle until March 23, when the Jackrabbits head to Omaha, Nebraska take on Creighton at 2 p.m. The Jackrabbits return to Omaha two weeks later to face Kansas City in a neutral site game on April 7 in their final spring road contest.

South Dakota State wraps up the spring season with another home weekend, welcoming the University of Mary to town April 14 at 12:30 p.m. before a 6 p.m. bout April 17 against Augustana. Both games are tentatively scheduled for Fishback Soccer Park, depending on weather.
