BROOKINGS, S.D. — The South Dakota State track and field program announced it's 2019-20 indoor schedule Friday afternoon.
The men return as reigning Summit League Indoor Champions, while the women finished fourth at last year's championships hosted by SDSU.
Â
Highlighted by six home events at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, the indoor season kicks off Dec. 6 and 7 at home with the SDSU Holiday Open. The Jacks have opened their season at this meet every year since the SJAC opened in 2014.
Â
Over a month later, the Jacks enter 2020 competition when they take on North Dakota in a dual meet back at the SJAC on Jan. 18.
Â
A week later, the Jacks host back-to-back meets: the SDSU Div. II Invite on Thursday, Jan. 24 and the Jim Emmerich Invitational Jan. 25.
Â
The Jacks hit the road the following week as they travel to the Jack Johnson Classic hosted by Minnesota on Feb. 1.
Â
The following weekend, Feb. 7 and 8, features the Jacks splitting squads to compete at two different meets. A group of Jackrabbits will find themselves at the Frank Sevigne Adidas Classic at Nebraska, and another will be in Vermillion, S.D. for the USD Dakota Realty/Alumni Open hosted by South Dakota.
Â
From there, the Jacks spend the next two weeks at home with the SDSU Indoor Classic slated for Feb. 14 and 15 and the SDSU Last Chance meet the following weekend on Feb. 21.
Â
Finally, the Jacks cap off the indoor season at the Summit League Indoor Championships at Purdue Fort Wayne on Feb. 28 and 29.
