KANSAS CITY -- South Dakota State women's soccer posted a 3.604 combined grade point average to earn the United Soccer Coaches' Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season, announced this week by the organization.

Six Jackrabbits posted 4.0 grade point averages for the year, while 19 student-athletes had a 3.5 GPA or better. Out of 26 individuals on last year's roster, 24 had a 3.0-plus GPA.

SDSU finished with the 35th highest combined GPA among Division I teams and were 68th in the country between NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA programs.

A total of 647 women's soccer teams posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the previous academic year.

South Dakota State has been honored by the organization (previously known as the NSCAA) for 11 straight years. The Jacks have won the team academic award 12 times overall in their Division I history.
