INDIANAPOLIS — South Dakota State University football student-athlete Dalton Cox was recently named a recipient of a $10,000 postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA.
An Aberdeen native, Cox was a two-year starter at linebacker for the Jackrabbits and served as a team captain in 2018. He ranked second on the team with 68 tackles during his senior season.
Cox also was a two-time Google Cloud Academic All-America honoree while maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as an economics and entrepreneurial studies major, earning first-team recognition this past fall.
Cox is the second Jackrabbit student-athlete to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship during the 2018-19 academic year, joining women's cross country and track and field standout Rachel King. The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
