KANSAS CITY, Mo. – South Dakota State women's soccer boasted a 3.64 combined grade point average last academic year, earning the United Soccer Coaches' Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season.Â

Brock Thompson said. "They managed an unprecedented transition to remote learning while continuing to excel in the classroom. I couldn't be more proud of our team and believe that they will continue to succeed academically in the future."

The squad had seven players record 4.0 grade point averages in the fall and 14 in the spring. Six of those players maintained 4.0 grade point averages throughout the entirety of the year.Â

A total of 562 women's soccer teams posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the United Soccer Coaches' Team Academic Award for the previous academic year.

The team has been honored by the organization for 12 consecutive years. The Jackrabbits have won the team academic award 13 times in the Division I era.
