Matt Dentlinger was named Thursday to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Men's Basketball Team.
A sophomore forward from Arcadia, Iowa, Dentlinger has compiled a 4.00 grade point average in mechanical engineering. He is a junior academically after redshirting the 2017-18 season.
He is second on the team with 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest, shooting 69.6 percent against league opponents with three 20-point scoring performances. The Arcadia, Iowa native has reached double figures in 18 total games and was named the Summit League's Player of the Week Feb. 17.
Dentlinger will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced between March 9-12.
Selections to the Academic All-District 6 Basketball Team were based upon a vote of sports information directors in in Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Candidates must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing, a starter or key reserve on his team and carry at least a 3.3 GPA.
