SIOUX FALLS –
Grace Glanzer and
Kelsey Lenox were announced as the Summit League's Pitcher and co-Player of the Week Monday, capping a four-win weekend for the Jackrabbits.
Â
Glanzer went 4-0 in the circle with three complete-game performances, striking out 20 opponents over 23 innings. The Sioux Falls freshman posted a 1.22 ERA for the weekend and held opponents to a .207 average, earning victories against Montana (twice), Boston and Marist. She struck out seven in Friday's game with the Grizzlies, then turned in six- and five-strikeout performances Saturday against the Terriers and Red Foxes. Glanzer tossed three hitless innings of relief in Sunday's win over Montana and struck out two.
Â
Lenox terrorized pitching staffs all weekend, leading the Jackrabbits with a .583/.706/1.417 slash line. The Chesterfield, Missouri native was 7-of-12 at the plate with a double and three home runs, driving in a team-best eight while drawing five walks. Lenox had two multi-hit and multi-RBI games, including a four-RBI performance against Marist. She also hit a go-ahead two-run home run in Sunday's win against the Grizzlies and shared this week's award with South Dakota's Lauren Eamiguel.
Â
Both honors are the first of their kind for the Jackrabbit student-athletes. SDSU is off this weekend and returns to the field March 6 to open a weeklong trip in Madeira, Florida.
