SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State swimming and diving had a total of eight student-athletes named to the All-Summit League teams, announced by the league office Thursday.
Four women,
Kristen Davis,
Tiffany Nguyen,
Lily Schimke and
Ashley Theobald, represented the Jackrabbits on the women's 19-member team. On the men's side,
Jared Miller,
Henry Skinner,
Jacob Sutej and
Cody Watkins were named to the 16-member squad.
Of the eight Jackrabbits, Miller (2019) and Theobald (2018) are the only repeat honorees.
Jared Miller | Junior, Mechanical Engineering
Miller has now earned this honor along with All-Summit League for his second straight year. The Baker City, Ore. Native placed fourth in the 200 back (1:50.75), eighth in the 100 Back (51.38), seventh in the 500 Free (4:37.89), third in the 400 Medley Relay (3:22.93), and fourth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:31.87) at the 2020 Summit League Championships.
Henry Skinner | Sophomore, Political Science/Spanish
At the Summit League Championships, Skinner placed third in the 400 Medley Relay (3:22.93), fourth in the 200 Free Relay (1:22.56), fourth in the 400 Free Relay (3:05.14), fourth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:31.87), seventh in the 100 Back (51.27), 10th in the 100 Free (45.67) and 13th in the 50 Free (21.02). The Prior Lake, Minn. native also earned 2020 All-Summit League.
Jacob Sutej | Junior, Pharmacy
The Omaha, Neb. native placed 10th in the 200 IM (1:55.30), 13th in the 200 Breast (2:11.36) and 15th in the 400 IM (4:11.09) at the Summit League Championships.
Cody Watkins | Junior, Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences
Watkins earned 2020 All-Summit League for his third-place finish in the 800 Free Relay (6:45.11) at the Summit League Championships. The Soldotna, Alaska native also placed fourth in the 100 Fly (50.45), fourth in the 200 Free Relay (1:22.56), fourth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:31.87), ninth in the 200 Fly (1:54.13) and 13th in the 200 Free (1:41.73) at the conference championships.
Kristen Davis | Junior, Exercise Science
The swimmer from Durban, South Africa placed third in the 400 Medley Relay (3:48.57), fourth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:44.90), sixth in the 100 Fly (55.77), sixth in the 200 Fly (2:05.48) and 11th in the 400 IM (4:35.17) at the Summit League Championships. Davis also set an SDSU record in the 100 fly, swimming a 55.65 at the Augustana Invitational.
Tiffany Nguyen | Junior, Pharmacy
Nguyen placed seventh in the 100 Back (59.04), ninth in the 200 Back (2:05.56) and 15th in the 200 IM (2:10.72) at the Summit League Championships. The junior from Plymouth, Minn. also swam with the team's 400 medley relay team to record the league's second-fastest time of the season (3:47.27).
Lily Schimke | Senior, Biological Sciences
Schimke earned 2020 All-Summit League and placed third in the 400 Medley Relay (3:48.57), eighth in the 100 Back (59.39) and 14th in the 200 Back (2:10.90) at the Summit League Championships.
Ashley Theobald | Senior, Political Science/Ag Ed
Theobald earned 2020 All-Summit League, placing second in the 100 IM (57.65), second in the 200 Free Relay (1:34.11 - school record), seventh in the 200 IM (2:06.28) and seventh in the 400 IM (4:31.65) at the Summit League Championships. The Ft. Pierre native also broke the school record in the 100 IM with a time of 57.22 at the Augustana Invitational, the league's second-fastest time in the event this season.
