Fellow Jackrabbits:
As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters, it is important to take time to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a community and work in a profession built on relationships. I personally thank you for your support and please know that all decisions moving forward will be made with the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans at the forefront.
Although we are all disappointed that a chapter of Jackrabbit history will forever remain unwritten, we still have reason to celebrate. When in need of a pick-me-up I need only to be reminded that our Jackrabbits competed a high level – both athletically and academically -- and provided many lasting memories during the past year. A few highlights that come to mind include:
Out of adversity comes opportunity. I have challenged our staff to win each day and I believe we will emerge from this situation as even better stewards of our resources, more creative and hungrier than ever to succeed in all we do.

- Hosting ESPN's College Gameday
- The Jackrabbit football team making its eighth consecutive appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs
- Women's soccer winning the Summit League tournament championship at Fishback Soccer Park and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history
- Men's cross country winning its fourth consecutive Summit League title – with a perfect score, no less – and finishing fourth in the NCAA Midwest Regional
- Men's basketball winning the Summit League regular season title and reaching the 20-win mark for the seventh time in nine years
- Women's basketball defeating Notre Dame for the 1,000th win in program history and later advancing to the Summit League tournament championship game for the 10th time in 12 years
- Wrestling winning 12 dual meets and having four wrestlers (plus an alternate) qualify for the NCAA Championships
- Summit League athletes of the year in men's cross country (Joseph Minor-Williams), women's soccer (Leah Manuleleua, Maggie Smither), men's basketball (Douglas Wilson) and men's diving (Mitch Raihle)
