ST. LOUIS — South Dakota State quarterback Chris Oladokun was named Tuesday to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team. He was the lone Jackrabbit representative on the 24-player squad, which is selected by the league's coaches, sports information directors and a select media panel.
Â
A graduate transfer from Samford by way of Tampa, Florida, Oladokun has started every game for the nationally ranked Jackrabbits this season. He ended the regular season by completing 63.9 percent (184-of-288) of his passes for 2,450 yards and 20 touchdowns against only five interceptions. Oladokun threw at least one touchdown pass in 10 of 11 games and was named MVFC Newcomer of the Week after accounting for three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in SDSU's season-opening win at Colorado State.
Â
Earlier this week, Oladokun was named an honorable mention selection to the all-MVFC team.

The Jackrabbits, 9-3 overall, return to action Saturday, traveling to fourth-seeded Sacramento State for the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. South Dakota State opened its 10th consecutive postseason appearance with a 56-24 home win over UC Davis on Nov. 27.
