South Dakota State football coach John Stiegelmeier announced Wednesday the addition of three student-athletes to the Jackrabbits' 2021 recruiting class. The trio join a group of 29 newcomers who were added to the program during the early signing period in December.
Â
Joining the Jackrabbits as a graduate transfer is wide receiver Landon Wolf. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wolf previously played at Oklahoma State, where he caught 55 passes for 551 yards over three seasons. He played primarily on special teams his first season before tallying 33 receptions for 362 yards and two touchdowns in 2018. In 2019, Wolf caught at least one pass in 12 of the Cowboys' 13 games, finishing the year with 25 catches for 189 yards.
Â
Wolf also was a four-time Academic All-Big 12 selection while majoring in sociology.
Â
Also signing a National Letter of Intent was Timothy Croskey, a cornerback from Buckeye, Arizona. A 6-foot, 170-pounder, Croskey earned first-team all-region honors this past fall at Buckeye Union High School. He also has excelled in track and field, earning berths in Junior Olympic regional and national competitions.
Â
He plans to major in mechanical engineering.
Â
Completing the list of new additions was defensive lineman Chandler Carter, who has been accepted for admission to SDSU and plans to join the Jackrabbits in the fall. A native of Chandler, Arizona, Carter earned first-team all-state recognition after averaging two sacks and three tackles for loss per game for Valley Christian High School.
Â
Carter plans to major in business economics.
Â
South Dakota State finished the 2019 season with an 8-5 overall record after making its eighth consecutive appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The Jackrabbits are slated to kick off the 2021 spring season Feb. 19 at Northern Iowa.
