SIOUX FALLS — Trent Francom earned his first ever Summit League Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Francom won the pole vault at the ORU Invite with a vault of 17-10.50 (5.45m) and extended his school record with his winning mark that ranks ninth in the nation.

SDSU's record holder and Summit League Athlete to Watch passed his previous best outdoor mark of 17-05.50 and is the only SDSU vaulter to ever clear 17-00.00, both indoors and outdoors.

The Jackrabbits head to Vermillion for the USD Early Bird this Saturday, April 3.
