Baylor Scheierman and
Douglas Wilson were honored as the Summit League announced its postseason men's basketball awards Thursday.
Scheierman earned first-team all-conference while accolades Wilson was a second-team honoree.
A sophomore from Aurora, Neb., Scheierman averaged 15.1 points in league play. He led the conference with 4.7 assists per game and his average of 9.4 rebounds during conference play ranked second. He is ninth nationally with 12 double-doubles, seven of which occurred in league play. Additionally, his 8.57 defensive rebounds per game is the third highest average in the country.
Wilson, the reigning Summit League Player of the Year, earned all-league recognition for the second straight year. The senior from Des Moines, Iowa, scored 20-plus points once in every weekend of league play. He led the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game while shooting 53 percent in conference. He finished fourth in the league in steals per game (1.5) and eighth in scoring.
The Jackrabbits won the Summit League's regular season title for the fourth consecutive time and the seventh in the last nine years.
SDSU (15-6, 9-3 Summit League) is the top seed in this weekend's Summit League Championship. The Jacks will play No. 8 seed Omaha (5-19, 3-11) in the opening round Saturday at 5:45 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
