GREELY, Colo. – Grace Glanzer continued her dominant pitching weekend in South Dakota State University softball's 6-0 win against Colorado State Saturday afternoon at the Colorado Classic.Â
The Jacks extended their winning streak to seven games and improved to 7-1 on the season while Colorado State fell to 5-7.
Glanzer picked up her second complete game shutout in as many days by allowing just four hits and striking out three batters. The freshman retired her final 10 batters faced.Â
Cylie Halvorson and Lindsey Culver each recorded two hits and drove in a combined three runs. Halvorson and Rozelyn Carrillo each hit two-run home runs. As a team, the Jacks collected nine hits and didn't commit an error in the field.Â
Peyton Daugherty led off the game with a single and advanced bases on two groundouts. With two outs in the inning, Kelsey Lenox gave the Jacks the early lead on an RBI single in the top of the first.Â
Halvorson hit her third two-run home run of the weekend in the top of the third to stretch the SDSU lead to 3-0. The Jacks came right back in the top of the fourth inning, adding on to their lead with a 2-run shot by Carrillo to put the Jacks up 5-0.Â
Culver concluded the scoring in the fifth inning, driving in Allison Yoder on a two-out single to give the Jacks a 6-0 advantage.Â
