JACKS, SIX INDIVIDUALS CLAIM USTFCCCA HONORS

NEW ORLEANS— Six South Dakota State cross country athletes, as well as both men's and women's teams have garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, announced by the association Thursday.

Overall, there were 187 men and 269 women who were named All-Academic Individuals in NCAA Division I.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have either qualified for the national championship meet or finished top-5 at their respective conference championship.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. Overall, there were 199 men's teams and 233 women's teams that received All-Academic honors.

The Jackrabbit men carry a GPA of 3.448, while the women come in with a 3.76.

The same six athletes who received Summit League Academic All-League honors received ones from from USTFCCCA as well.

3.882 GPA in History Education
Won the league meet with a mark of 21:45.6
Earned a trip to Stillwater, Okla. for the NCAA National Championships where she finished 120th with a PR of 21:40.6.

Ellie Friesen
Jr. | Cresco, Iowa

4.0 GPA in Sport and Recreation Management.
Named First Team All-Summit League after finishing second in the 6K race with a 21:55.7

Anna Donnay
Sr. | Kimball, Minn.

3.921 GPA in Dairy Production and Manufacturing
Finished third at the league meet in a time of 21:58.0 to be named First Team All-League.

Cailee Peterson
Jr. | Mayville, N.D.

4.0 GPA in Wldlife and Fisheries
Ran a personal best 22:14.1 to take fourth and all league honors a the league meet.

Thomas Breuckman
Jr. | Andover, Minn.

3.921 GPA in Mechanical Engineering
Earned All-League honors with a third place finish in time of 25:03.7 at the league meet.

Ben Olson
Jr. | Coon Rapids, Minn.

3.786 GPA in Mechanical Engineering
Finished fourth at the league meet to earn First Team honors with a time of 25:05.3.

The Jackrabbit men and women took first at the 2020 Summit League Cross Country Championships with scores of 22. The men picked up their fifth-consecutive league title, while the women grabbed their first since 2008.
