South Dakota State softball extended its winning streak to 14 games with a doubleheader sweep over Omaha Sunday afternoon at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium.
Â
The Jacks improved to 27-4 overall and 12-0 in conference play after edging the Mavericks 2-1 in extra innings to start the day, and exploding for a dozen in a 12-6 win in game two.
Â
Omaha fell to 7-20 overall and 2-6 in league play.
Â
GAME 1: SDSU 2, OMAHA 1 (9 innings)
Cheyanne Masterson's walk-off walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning broke an evenly matched game between the Jacks and Mavericks.
Â
Omaha's lone run came in the second inning on a single down the left field line that gave the Mavericks a 1-0 lead.
Jocelyn Carrillo's solo shot to center field for SDSU tied the game at 1-all as the next five innings remained deadlocked thanks to solid defense and pitching on both sides.
Â
Grace Glanzer earned a no-decision after pitching eight innings, recording six strikeouts, allowing five walks and six hits.
Tori Kniesche struck out three batters and walked one in the final inning to pick up her 13th win of the season.
Â
Carrillo went 2-for-4, including the home run.

Â
GAME 2: SDSU 12, OMAHA 6
The Jacks and Mavericks traded shares of the lead throughout the game until
Kelsey Lenox's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth broke the game open and secured the win for SDSU.
Â
State scored a pair of runs in the first on
Cylie Halvorson's 11th home run of the season and held a brief lead until Omaha answered back in the top of the second with three runs on three hits to take a 3-2 lead.
Â
The Jacks regained the lead, scoring three runs on a passed ball, a
Peyton Daugherty RBI single and a Halvorson RBI double.
Â
After two scoreless innings, each team had a big fifth inning. Omaha forced another lead change on a three-run home run to right-center field in the top half of the inning, but State responded with two singles, a double and triple to go back up 8-6.
Â
The game's biggest hit came in the bottom of the sixth as Lenox's grand slam pushed in four more runs to put the Jacks up 12-6 and finish off the Mavericks.
Â
After throwing an inning in relief in the first game of the day, Kniesche gave up six earned runs, four walks, five hits and struck out three in five innings.
Kendra Conard picked up her second save of the season by pitching the final two innings. Conard allowed four hits and two walks, but pitched out of two bases-loaded jams.
