FRANCOM RECEIVES SUMMIT RECOGNITION

SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State's Trent Francom has been named as one of the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

A senior from Huron, Francom won the pole vault at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational on Jan. 22 in the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, clearing a league-leading height of 17 feet, 10.5 inches (5.45 meters). His winning height ties him for eighth-best in the NCAA this season.

This is Francom's first career indoor athlete of the week accolade.

The Jackrabbit track and field teams return to action Saturday at the Adidas Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska.
