NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD – The South Dakota State men's cross country team scored 18 points to take the team title in the 8k at the Briar Cliff Invite held at the Adams Nature Preserve.
All six competing runner placed in the top 20, led by a fifth-place showing from
Ben Anteau, who clocked a 25:24.20 for a personal best.
Lucas Caminiti quickly finished next in 25:29.70 for sixth place while
Cody Larson took seventh with a personal-best time of 25:32.34.
Andrew Johnson was not far behind, crossing the finish line in 25:46.63 for ninth place and a personal best.
Noah Stewart took 13
th place in 25:59.04 for a PR while, finally for the Jackrabbits,
Nathan Notgrass ran a personal-best 26:25.04 for 17
th place.
SDSU won the meet with 18 points, followed by Dordt in second place with 66 points. Buena Vista finished in third with 77 points, Mount Marty was fourth with 106 points and Midland scored 116 points for fifth. Morningside (143), Briar Cliff (186) and Peru State (217) rounded out the team finishes.
UP NEXT: SDSU cross country resumes for the women on Oct. 14 in Peoria, Illinois for the Bradley Pink Invite while the men compete on Oct. 15 at the Weis-Crockett Invitational in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Start times are set for 3 p.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.
