ST. LOUIS — South Dakota State kicker/punter Hunter Dustman was honored Sunday as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Jackrabbits' comeback victory over North Dakota State a day earlier.
Dustman kicked a career-high three field goals — all in the second half — including the game-winning 18-yarder with 3:49 to play in the fourth quarter as SDSU rallied for a 23-21 victory in the battle of the top-two ranked teams in the FCS. Dustman booted a 31-yard field goal on the Jackrabbits' opening drive of the second half and brought SDSU to within 21-20 on a 38-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. The Jackrabbits trailed 21-7 at halftime before outscoring NDSU by a 16-0 count in the second half.

A junior from East Bethel, Minnesota, Dustman also punted three times for an average of 42.7 yards — with a long of 47 — and recorded touchbacks on three of his six kickoffs,
With the victory, the Jackrabbits remained tied atop the MVFC standings with a 4-0 record and improved to 6-1 overall. SDSU travels to North Dakota for a 3 p.m. matinee Saturday at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
