BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State hits the road for the first time in over a month, as well as for the first time in Summit League competition, as the Jackrabbits gear up to play at St. Thomas and Western Illinois.Â

SDSU makes its first trip to St. Paul since St. Thomas moved to the Division I level with the Jacks and Tommies set to square off at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Jackrabbits take on the Leathernecks in Macomb at 1 p.m. Sunday. SDSU holds a 16-1-1 all-time series record over Western Illinois and has won the last 12 meetings between the two sides.

The Jackrabbits ended a five-half stretch without a goal this past Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Omaha. All three goals came in a less than 10-minute span during the second half, with the second and third goals coming within 41 seconds of each other. The Jacks also didn't give up a shot on goal in the contest which was the second instance this year.

South Dakota State stands at 1-0-2 in Summit League action. The Jackrabbits had a scoreless tie on Sept. 24 with SDSU outshooting South Dakota 17-5 in the match. SDSU and Denver, the two favorites in The Summit League Preseason Poll, also played to a 0-0 draw on Sept. 30.Â

SDSU is one of the top ranked defensive teams in the country through 12 matches. The Jacks sit eighth in the nation in goals-against average (0.417), ninth in save percentage (0.886) and 10th in shutout percentage (0.667).Â
