WIPF EARNS SUMMIT LEAGUE HONOR

SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State's Jared Wipf was named TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
A freshman from Tea, Wipf won the 60-meter dash in 6.80 seconds at the Adidas Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 29. His time was a career best and the third-fastest time in school history.
Wipf is the third Jackrabbit honored with a Summit League weekly award this season, joining Reid Pierzinski (Dec. 7) and Trent Francom (Jan. 25).
The Jackrabbit track team will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota.
