SIOUX FALLS — After winning the Summit League indoor title a month ago, the South Dakota State men's track and field team has been tabbed as the favorite during the outdoor season by the slimmest of margins in a vote among the league's coaches.
The Jackrabbits received two of seven first-place votes and a total of 32 points and two first-place votes from the league's seven head coaches. South Dakota was selected to finish runner-up with 31 total points and two first-place votes, while North Dakota State took third with 30 total points and the final three first-place votes. Oral Roberts (18), St. Thomas (13), North Dakota (12) and Western Illinois (11) rounded out the men's rankings.

- Turned in a fifth-place finish in the 10,000m at the 2021 Drake Relays with a personal-best time of 29:43.87
