SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State's
Ben Olson was named the 2021-2022 Summit League Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and Coach
Rod DeHaven was tabbed as the Men's Indoor Coach of the Year, league officials announced Friday.
Olson's honor comes after a stunning performance at the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships in February, where he was named the Track MVP for earning three medals over the weekend.
DeHaven also earned his third Men's Summit League Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year accolade after leading the Jackrabbits to their second league indoor title in four years.
The individuals were selected for the honors as voted on by the league's head coaches. The voting was based on the student-athletes' respective performances throughout the 2021-22 indoor season.
