SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State's Riley Bauer has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
A sophomore from Brancroft, Iowa, Bauer was the top collegiate finisher at the Emporia State Relays in the 800-meter event on March 26. He finished third overall after he clocked a new personal-best time of 1:49.92, now the third fastest mark in SDSU history. Bauer's personal-best time ranks him 10th in the nation in the 800-meter run.
The Jackrabbit track and field teams return to action this weekend with competition in Vermillion and California.
