IRVING, Texas — Seven South Dakota State University football players were named Wednesday to the 2021 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. Sponsored by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, the award is presented annually to college football players from all divisions who maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher throughout their collegiate careers.

In the 16-year history of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, 91 South Dakota State football student-athletes have been honored and at least one Jackrabbit has received the recognition each year. Nationwide, 1,559 players from 313 schools were honored from the recently completed 2021 season.

Besides meeting the GPA requirement, honorees must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in fall 2021, met all mandated progress towards degree requirements and been starters or key contributors during the season.
