South Dakota State'sÂ
Rozelyn Carrillo has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Player of the Week by the conference office.
Carrillo led the Jackrabbits to a 3-1 week and 3-0 series sweep of Kansas City over the weekend. The sophomore tallied six hits, six runs and five RBIs in the KC series with three extra-base hits - two doubles and a home run.Â
In SDSU's first game with the Roos Saturday, Carrillo went 2-for-2 and drew two walks while driving in one run. On Saturday, Carrillo scored the final run of both walk-off wins. She went 3-for-4 in game one and then hit a walk-off homer in the eighth inning of game two. Carrillo hit a grand slam in the Jackrabbits' loss at Minnesota midweek.
Carrillo is on a 16-game hit streak and is averaging .397 overall and .500 in conference games.Â
This is the third weekly accolade of Carrillo's career and her second of the season.Â
