SDSU MEN'S BASKETBALL RECEIVES NABC ACADEMIC ACCOLADES

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Tuesday its recipients of the 2021-22 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball teams and student-athletes. The South Dakota State men's basketball program claimed NABC Academic Excellence Award honors.
The NABC Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2021-22 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Seven Jackrabbit athletes made the NABC Honors Court list. SDSU was led in the classroom by Luke Appel (business economics), Alex Arians (sport management and recreation), Matt Dentlinger (engineering), Charlie Easley (business economics), Aaron Fiegen (exercise science), Matt Mims (consumer affairs) and Baylor Scheierman (sports management).
The NABC's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball. Over 2,000 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2021-22.
