SIOUX FALLS, SD –
Reid Pierzinski has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Track Peak Performer of the Week following a stellar showing in Colorado last week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Pierzinski broke the longest standing track record in the books at SDSU for regularly contested events after taking second place in the 400-meter dash in 47.09 seconds at the Colorado Invitational on Jan. 27. His mark breaks the previous school record of 47.29 set in 1985 by Jeff Tiefenthaler.
His time is currently the fastest mark in the conference so far this season and is sixth in the Division I Midwest Region.
This is his second career accolade.
The South Dakota State men's and women's track and field teams will split between meets in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota on Feb. 3 and 4.
