LAWRENCE, Kan. – South Dakota State's Saturday plans in Lawrence at the Jayhawk Invitational were washed away by rain and the Jackrabbits have already updated their schedule. SDSU will play a doubleheader at Kansas on Sunday starting at 12 p.m., then will make a trip to Norman, Okla., to face the No. 1-ranked and two-time reigning national champion Sooners on Monday at 6 p.m.
Â
The Jackrabbits were set to face nationally-ranked Stanford for a second time Saturday morning followed by an evening game versus the Jayhawks, but both games were canceled.Â
Â
SDSU instead will stay in Lawrence and face Kansas in back-to-back contests on Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark. The Jackrabbits head into the meetings at 13-9 overall while the Jayhawks are 12-10.Â
Â
After losing a game of the expected five they expected to play in at the Jayhawk Invite, the Jacks quickly worked and found a high-caliber replacement. Oklahoma also looked to replace a game due to impending weather at the Bulldog Invitational in Starkville, Miss.Â
Â
The Sooners will host the Jackrabbits at Marita Hynes Field in Norman Monday. Broadcast information is to be determined ahead of first pitch between SDSU and Oklahoma. The Sooners are the top ranked team in Division I softball at 19-1 overall.Â
